Movement is a sign of health. When we know how to respond to, and navigate through, our challenges we move forwards and our growth accelerates.
When we can’t respond to these challenges our pace of growth slows. Or we become stuck. Siloed ways of working, difficult team dynamics and overwhelm are some of the many ways this can be experienced.
In contrast, when we are moving we experience more ease, more possibilities and more vibrant work cultures with stronger financial results.
And what the world needs right now is people and teams thriving and responding to the big challenges affecting us all.
How we work with you
Strong and trusting relationships sit at the heart of our change process
Our belief is that everything is designed to be in motion. This can be simply observed when one opens a window and air begins to flow through. Problems arise when that flow is inhibited or blocked for too long. So when a client is stuck the question becomes: what is blocking the movement from happening?
Our approach is to remove the barriers that are blocking the change that wants to happen. It is a creative process that works with the energy that is present in any system. This is different from the traditional view that people and teams lack the power to move and it is the consultants who make change happen.
Our five movement interventions
How we support people, teams and organisations to move through change.

When the energy is blocked change cannot happen. Movement occurs when we weaken or remove the barriers that are holding back the change that wants to happen.

Too much energy, such as a chaotic work environment or team conflict can slow us down. We create a strong enough container to calm the energy and find a productive outlet for it.

When there is low energy the pace of change is slow. Sometimes there is a denial that change is needed. The low energy needs to be re-kindled in these situations by helping clients find the spark and amplifying it.

Many of our clients are depleted from trying to make change happen. When we find new energy sources we can propel ourselves to move forward in a sustainable way.

Change happens when we pay attention to the energy that is already there and discovering where it needs to go next to move forwards.

Our only criteria is that you have a spirit of adventure and are prepared to explore, be curious and commit to the process that is needed to reach your goal.
Most of our clients are senior leaders in large organisations. However we also work with business leaders in smaller organisations and individuals who want to create more movement in their professional and personal life.

We work with a high energy organisation with a fast paced culture. Founded in 2009, the organisation has scaled to become the second largest utility supplier in the UK while maintaining the restless energy of a start-up. Its entrepreneurial spirit has brought it great success.
We have partnered with the business since 2015 with a focus on finding new energy sources to support them on their growth curve.
At the same time, we designed interventions that supported the system to slow down and develop the strategy and tools needed to successfully navigate a pandemic, restructure and merger. This included:
Delivering an online resilience program for leaders.
Online resilience support for all employees during the pandemic.
Team Coaching for Heads of Department and their teams during a company restructure in 2020.
Building psychological safety with its biggest function during the merger.
Leadership development through 1:1 executive coaching.

The investment teams in this financial services company have experienced unprecedented levels of busyness as it has responded to volatility in the financial markets.
At the same time, the back office functions have been preparing for an IPO while providing additional support to the investment teams.
These conditions created a heightened period of pressure to perform and the business wanted to develop new tools to enable their employees to respond and thrive to the changes happening around them.
As a result, we partnered with the front and back office functions across Europe, America and Asia. We designed and delivered a group level program that gave people the support they needed to perform optimally.
At the same time, we enabled the teams to access more support when they needed it by exploring how they can ask for help to propel them forwards.

This company have developed a new group level strategy in response to a drop in share price in 2019.
However their lower valuation also led to a hostile takeover bid and the energy at the executive level became focused on fighting this takeover rather than transitioning to its new strategy.
The change that was being called for effectively ground to a halt as a result.
During this time we worked with the executive with a focus on harnessing the high energy present to better respond to the blocked energy that was impeding the change they wanted.
We also worked with a key member of the executive who was feeling overwhelmed during this turbulent period. Through our work they developed the tools to bring a calm and grounding energy in their leadership style. This supported others on the exec team to move through this turbulent period of change.

Rowan
Rowan started Made to Move in 2016 and is known for doing relational work that leads to meaningful change particularly when people and teams have been stuck.
Working with his clients in partnership he brings:
A theory of change that blends his skills as a consultant, coach and psychotherapist.
A proven ability to work with a broad spectrum of people across different organisations and sectors.
Previously he worked as a Consultant at Deloitte and for a number of FTSE 100 companies including BP and BAA.
He's a qualified executive coach and UKCP and BACP accredited Gestalt Psychotherapist who trained at The Metanoia Institute.

Georgina
Georgina is an experienced change consultant, coach and group facilitator. Over the past 20 years she has worked with businesses and non-profit organisations on their leadership development, organisational culture, growth strategy and brand communications.
She is known for her creative ways of working whether it’s walking together in nature or bringing creative methods and materials to her sessions that enable people with different ways of working to engage.
Her sweet spot is working with purpose-driven leaders and organisations who are focused on impact.
She works flexibly with a broad range of people, sectors and types of organisations and is currently deepening her work through an exploration of contemporary spirituality.
